Power generation, distribution, breaks and shutdowns

Power shuts down due to heavy snow; storms forcing tree falls on wires and in case of vehicle accidents which hit transmission wire poles. Power suppliers immediately rush to restore as soon as possible; because:
 Longer power-break can damage the food in freezers and fridges; claims have been paid for such damages in the United States
 Seniors suffer who need air-conditioning for health reasons
 Critical cases in hospital surgical theater suffer
 Robbers take advantage of the dark
 Organizations, individuals and students suffer
 Airliner activities suffer
 Gas stations suffer
 Mills suffer
Suppliers do have sense of responsibility.
Suppliers do have plans to act in case of such failures.

PAKISTAN:
People continue to suffer from these power shutdowns for a long time and ministry of power have not fulfilled their promise for restoration. They must have done efforts but results have not shown up this success.

It comes to my mind:
1. Do they continue ordering and receiving fuel for power generation? Who pays them and where they store; it must be multiplying!
2. Do they keep three-shifts staff and pay them; why for idle time?
3. If they are private power suppliers; Does government reimburse them.
4. Long time before some one wrote a poem: Oh WAPDA dear, I always fear; Friges hot, Kettles cold ….. etc.
5. In the past I had seen transferring power from another feeder to the feeder in need.

In the past, I suggested to divide power load in having industrial estates to arrange their own power plants and let the government take care of residents; schools, commerce and students. Masha Allah our country has persons (I means gents and ladies) who can arrange power generation plants and sell power to the users.
If our government sincerely takes step forward to redress sufferings, Allah will sure help them!

MANGLA DAM (Pakistan)
When Mangla Dam was under construction, the contractor suggested to have a cofferdam built way back from the main, so that silt should settle down there and barged out, instead of silting at the mouth of the dam where water falls to propel generators; which was so deep that taking out silt would not be possible and the storage area will continue reducing.

TARBELA DAM (Pakistan)
Design was faulty. When river was diverted it hit hardest at the tunnels gates and broke nuts and bolts, steel sheets, steel rods and erosion. Water sank in the river bed near tunnels – several sink holes of several feet deep and long and wide were to be filled in by sand filled bags thrown in from water surface. Water discharge was more after the tunnels then it measure through the tunnels. Water gushed out taking trees, animals and small hill sides. It was said “there was a faulty rock under that area. Thanks Allah human loss foreseen did not happen.

THAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECT (Pakistan)
There was lot of salt below and on the surface. That was used for laundry and water taps gave very heavy salty-water; during bath soap would jam in the hairs. That situation also gave birth to poisonous snakes.
It was heard a Major from Pakistan Army investigated and found that a large size rock was under that area which did not let water go down. It raised water level and pushed salts above the surface which made it barren.

WARSAK DAM (Pakistan)
At the very onset it was opposed by saying the city will sink down about one inch each year. Until now this has not happened.

KALABAGH DAM (Pakistan)
Lot of work had been done on this site during the construction of Tarbela Dam and lot of money was spent. All along construction has been opposed. This could be a large water reservoir and generate power. Allah know when it be come into being. When we have lot of water in monsoon; same time extra water is pushed into our system to create dangerous floods. In case of need, in dry, water is held back. It this Kalabagh reservoir was there we could save water for future use which we need water in dry time.

SMALL DAMS ORGANIZATION (Pakistan)
There is a Small Dam Organization in Pakistan. They must have done lot of work. Such organization could/should build small dams along side the river flow from itS origin to provide self-sufficient electricity and water to areas lying on both sides of river.

Power Generation from garbage (Pakistan)
In the era of General (r) Parvez Musharraf it was heard a contract was given for power generation from garbage and people started getting training for its management. What happened to it?

Solar Energy (Pakistan)
Decades before Punjab University students installed a large dish which attracted solar energy and they demonstrated grilling kabob with that heat. They could develop it into window panels. They needed encouragement and investment for this development. They were encouraged to do so or not, at least I am not aware of. It not, we missed a chance here also.

Purpose, obligation and our performance in life!

Performing Prayer looks like an excellent act done by us. But Allah/God details a series of obligations expected of us. This is taken from Sura (Chapter) Baqra from the Holy Quran

“It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces Towards east or West; but it is righteousness- to:
1. believe in Allah and
2. the Last Day, and
3. the Angels, and
4. the Book, and
5. the Messengers;
6. to spend of your substance, out of love for Him,
a. for your kin, for orphans,
b. for the needy,
c. for the wayfarer,
d. for those who ask, and
e. for the ransom of slaves;
f. to be steadfast in prayer, and
g. practice regular charity;
h. to fulfill the contracts which ye have made;
i. and to be firm and patient, in pain (or suffering) and adversity, and throughout all period of panic;
j. adversity, and throughout all periods of panic.
Such are the people of truth, the Allah fearing.”

(Righteousness=An act in accord with divine law/excellent/right/justifiable}

As I understand we should and we are expected to judge whether we are missing some step from J. to the top 1. In our busy life we miss some good-ones. To please Allah we should seek Allah’s forgiveness for our faults and His guidance and help to correct our missing and wrongdoings. Aameen.

Dear reader: your suggestions are welcome!

Being a human-being!

Being a human-being!

Each angel is continuously performing assigned job. This shows total obedience of angels to God. Angles have no desires, no families, and no other obligations except performance of what they were asked to do. To us it is tiring as we feel doing same job continuously for even hours. People told Prophet Moses; they were tired of eating same food every day! That was a blessing and they got extra time to worship Allah and act as He wished. We have desires, we have families; lot of obligations. If we can find time out of our busy life, to exercise upon Allah’s instructions, we can win His pleasure and blessings.

God created the first human being; Adam and asked angels to bow down to Adam. In obedience to God, all bowed down except one; “iblis”. Iblis told God of his reservations. But God condemned him. He was angry and said he will misguide the human-being. God was sure of human-being not to act contrary to His instructions and said those obedient to Me, wouldn’t listen you (Iblis). Iblis influenced Adam and Eve to ignore God’s instruction and eat fruit of the forbidden tree. Thus they were asked to leave the heaven and go down to the earth.

God did not expect human-being would repeat disobedience after this reaction. Earth was populated by offspring’s of Adam and Eve. To test them whether they learnt a lesson from ignoring His instructions, God sent down two angels; Harut and Marut, in Babylon to teach people some magic. These angels warned them not to practice that. However, a group practiced that magic while the other stayed away from it and proved faithful to God and His teachings. Iblis has always been distracting human-beings from right path.

When God found people got away from His instructions, He chose one of them who were obedient to Him, to tell those people to worship God and God only the creator, and act upon His instructions. Those Messengers warned of God’s displeasure and of a possible destructive stroke if they would not listen and mend their ways. When people paid no heed, opposed their advice, stood resistant to what they saw their forefathers doing, they were vanished and other nation was brought up.

Warnings are not taken seriously. Wrestling and stunt shows on television warn “do not do it at home” but some do it and get hurt.

Farishte se behtar hai insaan ban-na
(It’s better to be an human-being, rather than an angel)
Magar is men parhti hai mushqal ziada
(but it has lot of hardships to come over)

Admittedly human beings are weak and attract to the worldly “unavoidable” attractions and prone to do wrongs even if they see an evil effect of such acts upon others in the community. When we are determined to go for a wrong, there is always enough time to reconsider whether or not to go forward. There are many a slips between the cup and lips. If our ambitions persist, God let us loose. We enjoy the timely fruitful results of our move. However, we lose God’s pleasure.

People on right path ignore several ‘offers’ which pose easy earning of livelihood and better their family life. They have contentment and mold with the fluctuations of circumstances. Such people are helped by God also in keeping stead and fast on right path. By the grace of God they cross over hurdles, how hard and soft. Thus, they earn, for themselves and for their family, God’s blessings in their life and reward for the life hereafter. They are pleased with Allah’s blessings and Allah is pleased with them.

Darde-dil ke waste paida kyaa insaan ko
(human-beings were created to worship Him and stay heart to heart with each other)
Warna itayet ke liyea kuch kam na the karobiyaan
(otherwise He has lot of other creatures to obey and praise Him)

It is hard if we think it hard. It becomes easy if we take it easy with patience and accept grief and pleasure as test and Will of God. We should do well, listen to the hearts of others, help each other in thick and thin without prejudice and without expecting anything in return; seeking Allah’s help step-by-step we should make a good citizenry and community obedient to God. This is what Allah wants of a human-being to earn His pleasure and Blessings.

My Request: Please ask Allah/God to keep pulling me back on the right path and forgive me all the wrongdoings. God bless you. Aameen.

Thank you/shukria.

Love

Love begets love!
No love for a gloved heart.

Other day I heard of a quotable quote:

“If you love something, let it go
if it comes back to you it’s yours
if doesn’t, it never was”

I feel:

“It will, sure, come back if you are
honest and sincere to yourself and to
the loved one”

“It will, definitely, not come back, if you
are hiding some facts from the other
other person. In that case He who knows
all of your “open’s” and
“hiding’s” will help the other person
in keeping away from you”.

got it”.

Do not open (house or heart) door on a stranger!

DO NOT open door on a stranger!
Be it your House or Heart.

This is a gist and essence of happenings with frightful ends where the targeted person failed to be smart enough to think and rethink before encouraging the outsider.

Some one in the guise of a helper, lover or sympathizer, is always well prepared to overcome in first attempt. Failing that, other moves would be exercised to succeed. If the target is bold, strong and able to engage the attacker to show resistance, the weak and insincere attacker will twist the subject and look for a safe exit.

Good luck!

Suicide? - to kill self and/or others?

Can some one, please elaborate on this verse taken from Allama Muhammad Iqbal’s poetry collection “Bang-e-Dara – 1924”; what circumstances prompted him to write this, and if the present suicidal happenings in Pakistan and elsewhere, are a depiction of that!

You may comment here on this blog as well as communicate with me at sheikhmsarwar@gmail.com
Thanks.

Here goes the verse first in Urdu, then its English translation –

Translation
As I tried to commit suicide the Miss exclaimed
“O lover! If you are civilized do not transgress the limits

Without courage or dagger suicide’s intention is strange
Even granting your pain of failure has exceeded the limits”

I said, “O dear, give me some cash
I shall hire some Afghan from the Frontier Province”

Different Languages, Water Chemistry and Environment

Different languages, water chemistry and Environment

I had heard (in India – in 1940’s) from elders that spoken language changes after every 10 miles! I was in school at that time and did not feel change in speech of different school-mates. However, some basic words differed. Hindus and Muslims used different words in greetings; Muslims used to greet with word “salaam or assalamu-laikam – (peace be upon you)” and depart by saying “khuda hafiz – God’s protection”. Other students greeted with words “Parnam, namaste, sat-siri-akal”. Muslims used to use another common word “Adaab meaning respects” – give or pay my respects to your uncle. This word was well understood in hindi and urdu. Urdu looks like a mixed dialect of various languages spoken in India at that time.

However, when I grew up and came in contact with other people visiting villages and town with my parents, out of area 10-18 miles away, I felt the difference. More of this when I moved to other cities; I noticed difference in local spoken languages, the structure and looks of people and the animals. Very strange!

Water chemistry

I did not understand the philosophy of taking some water with us when visiting a relative 18 miles away where we had to stay for few days. Saving some of it for a day, rest of that water was then poured in water-jar (pitcher) of the host. If we had not done so, we could face some stomach upset. In our own neighborhood, there were spots of sweet as well as saline water. It takes time for stomach to adjust to a strange intakes. It is true when we are in light and enter a dark room; we are in dark and someone puts on light, or we look out from a dark room to light outside, our eyes take some time to adjust.

Food (vegetables, meat and fruit) and spices were almost identical and made no significant problem. Stomach temperature is different from the outside body temperature. Nature produces fruit and vegetables in summer which can cool down our stomach temperature; while in winter fruit and vegetable are such that they can increase the stomach temperature; - to keep both inside and outside temperature amicable.

Change of climate - customization

Just per chance I remember an instance when East Pakistan members of Pakistan national assembly came to attend session at Islamabad. It was normal in East Pakistan but whether was cold at Islamabad. Those members came in light dress. Blankets requisitioned and they had to stay back in the aircraft for some time. Travelers usually find out weather conditions at the destination. Although there were 24-hour communication between East and West Pakistan, the mercury was ignored. We should obey the nature; keep warm in winter and light dress in summer, umbrella or a hooded jacket for rain.

My parents told us how to compromise difference between Inside and Outside temperature effects on our persons; like, wipe/rub hand on feet immediately after taking off socks, and on head after taking off hat/cap, and face when stepping out in the open.

All this was to make a possible safer transition from one temperature environment to the other. For example, if someone fainted; by any reason; people used to sprinkle some water on his/her face and the fainted person would open eyes and come to senses.

How to Copy-Play with your Favorities on the Internet Explorer

A useful tip from www.computerfreetips.com – I have used it.

A cool tip to move your favorites list, because there is no any option to copy it. But using a method you can create a printable HTML document.
To create this HTML list, first open Internet Explorer. Here go to File option then you will find here option Import and Export, to run the Import/Export wizard Click here then Next.

Here you can select what to import and export, Select Export Favorites option then click Next button. Next you will get option which folder you want to export. You can select the top folder Favorites or just a specific folder.
Select "Export to a File or Address" option and give it a name and location. Click Next and Finish it. Now you have one html file and you can move it any where with you.

Marriage and its failure!

Marriage and its failure!

Marriage – a sanctity, sacred objects, obligations and rights.

In my view failure is the result of facts purposely hidden from each other or between the families involved in self-managed or arranged marriages? When differences in behaviors, over-expectations, intolerance, abusive language, not clarifying the doubts, no forgiveness, taunting, come to surface and are not resolved amicably or middleman advice, divorce is the sword to cut the wedlock into two. When you have decided to marry or rather you are thinking to marry, view marriage history in neighbour, in family and discuss odds and evens with friends with experience. It is good to know the unknown beforehand.

And, there have been instances when another daughter is married in the same house. We should behave others as we want ourselves to be behaved. Doubt is the seed of weeds and harmony is fertilizer for self and next generation. Please cooperate with each other, create a joyful happy atmosphere so your children should blossom in graceful looks and character, pro-family, pro-people, pro-friends.

When negotiating the proposal, new relation is on the anvil, both sides should speak respectfully, openly and not hesitantly, about anything that comes to mind and needs clarification. Both sides should make a list of questions and be ready to answer very clearly – no zigzags - no ifs and buts. Leave no peepholes. Modified definition of “neighbour”: “Neighbour is he who knows more than you know of yourself”. Away from the neighbourhood, there are relatives who have been on ‘odds’ with you and they are opportunists. To avoid future complications all of us should try to sort out things with tolerance, give and take, forgiveness.

Speak about your present family status, way of living, past history?, income, job/no job, education etc. Do not make promises that may not come true.

During initial inter-visits of families, before finalizing the proposal, involve your relatives, good friends, neighbour in your sittings. It is respectful for all the participants. That will be helpful mediator in the future in straightening out any odds because they were witness to the discussions.

Suggestions are welcome!

Building Confidence, Trust and Dependence

I will speak simple what I felt to create confidence, trust and dependence among families, friends, employers and employees:

At a time in the past, Open job ads in Punjabi language used to appear like:

“Lori da, ik, dang tapaoo, kharkaoo bajaoo, te, keechi meechi jaanda ….”
Translated word by word:
“Looking for, one, temporary, typist, and, stenographer…..”

It was very much clear to the audience that the job was “TEMPORARY ”.

Talking to one individual or for that matter to the whole of community via media, we should be so much clear and confident in ourselves about what we are putting forward or talking about and be able to create a counter confidence in the addressee also as to what he should expect. This is what all of us should be – confident, trustworthy and responsible. When our words and mind are not in agreement on something and we force out what we want to say, that disagreement shows up on our face and the addressee has also been given ability to judge it. Considering Sun and our body; in place of Mind and Heart, it’s like; when sun is right straight over our head, our shadow in whole is on our body alone; and when sun is diagonal; our shadow is seen away from our body.

When I see in myself, my own family, family friends, friends, neighbors, and relatives; in-laws have been in company for years, I do not feel we are easy with each other and have been able to create Confidence, Trust or Reliance and Dependency. We have a “shaken faith” in each other. Individually, each of us, feel that our mind is surrounded by a fear complex. Some time it clicks in my mind – “blood is thicker than water” – but this has jumped and stands the opposite side. Frankly, the family members among themselves; not to speak of those away, have doubt in each other and are not prepared to discuss; in fear of a leak, disobedience and rudeness or being rejected, or denied. We should put our mind and heart together, play no hide and seek, and think always positive. Create harmony as soon as possible. I feel if we are living with two opposite mindsets at the same time, do no more longing (desire) for a real affection and trust.

Together we can win hearts and solve problems. One straw is very weak, a bunch of straws is strong.

THROUGH THIS WRITING, I SINCERELY SEEK YOUR PRAYERS AND SUGGESTIONS TO REPAIR OUR TRUST AND CONFIDENCE WITH EACH OTHER.

Regards,
sheikhmsarwar@gmail.com

Pakistan's Security and Internal Affairs administration!

God Willing - IN SHA’ ALLAH:
When a person wishes to plan for the future, when he promises, when he makes resolutions, and when he makes a pledge, he makes them with permission and the will of Allah. For this reason, a Muslim uses the Qur’anic instructions by saying “In Sha ‘ Allah.” The meaning of this statement is: “If Allah wills.” Muslims are to strive hard and to put their trusts with Allah. They leave the results in the hands of Allah.

We here again and again “with the loss of lives of their members, militant groups have been shattered. They are confused and attack randomly here and there. Looks like they are not confused, they plan, they make groups of experts and obtain accessories and equipment themselves in a fashion that the guards trained to protect personnel and property fail to identity them. We should never take the enemy weak and never relax. Looks like we never provide our guards with necessary cell phones that can take pictures also.
We should also put guard posts away from the main entrance of the property to question the visitor and ask for identification. The first resistance can alert in time the guard at the main entrance.

We lost a precious life – Benazir Bhutto – in an assumption that we ourselves could take care of her security and did not need Help. Condemnation of brutal attacks which kills one person or the whole lot, serves no purpose. It exposes faults in our security which the attackers have understood and find those faults to invade.

Let us seek Allah’s protection. His protection is a Perfect Protection. May Allah protect us from all evils. Aameen.

Profession vs creed and color

People keep asking, (saying, by-the-way) about profession of forefathers or perhaps, they taunt about what they were doing to earn their livelihood; working masonry or carpentry, blacksmith! My Advice is introduce yourself, open up yourself, then ask other person to do so. Given that is truth, I am proud of them who worked in severe hot and cold weather to earn Halal (honest) livelihood, and not like we people working in office; where temperature is maintained and employer pays regularly; do we put enough work honestly into the hours we are paid???? I want to tell the questioner and the fitna person behind him. You have picked up a bad word, if it was something good, why the person behind you did not ask me direct. I will never put such an unethical question on anyone; Neither for salaries, nor for age. Professions are adopted in which you can show your talent to the employer who pays you for work done. Children from find creeds and colors are forced by circumstances to work at gas stations, cycle repair shops, or restaurants. If you have been in touch with your loved-ones in the background, you will find them doing jobs;--you will abruptly say; No, No, they are not your relatives; they are acquaintance. When you have YOUR PURPOSE, you will marry your son or daughter in that acquaintance family.

To find out facts I put this question in turn to myself, and I asked for Allah’s guidance, it was revealed that from a toilet to a house, mosque, church, temple, God’s house, mosque of the prophet (pbuh) and the mosque Al-Aqsa; all worked consists of masonry and carpentry. People involved have been from various families (in creed and color). They adopted this state-of-the-art and improved and developed, searched and produced fired bricks; blocks, showed their works in large bridges, domes, wonders of the world; towers, the forts in remote areas, the Taj Mehal, mausoleums, ready-made roofs, large span roof without pillars, wall-panels, and their work has been recognized and is now called “civil engineering” for which people of different colors and creeds are eager to achieve.
Construction of Sears Tower in Chicago, USA. The team of architect Bruce Graham and structural engineer Fazlur Rehman Khan designed the building as nine square "tubes"—each essentially a separate building—clustered in a 3x3 matrix.

The labor worked hard in supplying materials, to lay their work in place, without them they could do nothing. Whatever respectable titles (khatabs) their forefathers were bestowed upon in recognizion of their services rendered to the invaders. SINCE THEN they are known by that ? There are flourishing large socialized cities where everyone is called Nawab-Sahib. There are those nice happy cities where everybody’s name is ending with “Khan”, I thought we used word Khan for those people from Afghanistan or the northwestern areas of Pakistan. They speak Pashto or Persian. Here they don’t know any of these languages, they speak urdu. How can we dig out deep; we have no time, to find their backgrounds.

During a census in Lahore, Pakistan, 1.5 million pathans were working there; as firewood and charcoal dealer, cobbler/shoe-shine, popcorns. We call them Khan-Sahib; they are from northwestern areas; there are Maliks, Masuds, Mehmands, Tajiks, but we never asked any one which family some one belonged to.

Once I was returning from Pakistan and landed at Midway airport of Chicago, USA. I came out of the airport. I had not arranged for one from family to pick me up. Cab driver for the first in the line, was away from his car. His colleague called him Khawaja sahib there is sawari (passenger). I got into the car. I paid respects to the driver and addressed like this: My name is Sheikh Sarwar, I am from Samanabad, Lahore; I had not yet completed my address; he said “I am khawaja; also from Samanabad, living Khawaja Gulzar dental clinic. I did not get my professional job. My friend Bhatti from Pakki Tathi, Samanabad, is here and he arranged a cab for me. I make 40-50 thousand a month; no tax.” In our general rough language we call them “cabbies” by their apparent profession. Later on I found there were doctors also from Pakistan driving cabs because to get a certificate to practice in Chicago was time-consuming and expensive.

I carried a gift from Pakistan to be delivered to their relative in Chicago. After two days I gone to the address. No one answered my call. I was ready to leave. A cab came in and stopped at the drive way. He greeted me and asked whom I was looking for. I said “Chaudhry Imtiaz”. He shook hand with me and invited me to have a cup of tea. He thanked for the gift.

CONCLUSION:
We should not do “search-work” we have other essential jobs to do.
Meat and Depart as nice human beings.

I believe God gave expertise to:
- Prophet Daood" for making steel chains.
- Prophet Issa" to make clay birds
- Prophet Noha" to build a large boat
- People to prepare arrows, swords, and warfare headgear

I ask God and the readers for errors I have done in above writing. Please correct me. Thanks.

Afghanistgan and Indian Influence

My feelings are:

If some one is injured, hungry or thirsty, or some one’s dear has passed away; he will be thankful to that person who helps him in time of need. I have heard people calling that helping hand an “angel”.

Some nationals promote their nationalism on worldwide basis. They reach places they find vacuum and people looking out to redress their sufferings; be the helper from among or an outsider.

Deeds and not slogans do the job. Noble cause is to be noble and promote a noble image of your country. Go deep into the hearts of people. Work for their prosperity in bringing them “dress, education, food, and health services”.

In many countries, I found Indians working as importers, exporters, consultants, wholesalers, retailers and doctors and entertainers (theaters, movie and music discs). They have established themselves in those countries and earn money for them and ultimately name and money for their country.

Indian nationals established themselves since long, in many Muslim countries, as in Afghanistan, investing money, doing business, providing cheap manpower, IT-innovations, industrial machinery and what not.

My questions to a Pakistani –
 Have you ever tried to set up businesses, medical facilities, food processors, textiles, in other countries; instead of opening up several outlets in one city or the whole of country?
 US and Japan have established industry in countries where cheap labor is available. It created jobs in those countries and reduced cost of products. Pakistan industry is no less than others; take, Batala Engineering whose products used to be exported to UK; Imdad Tanning Machinery; they are also exporters; Kohinoor Textiles and their contemporaries; Ittefaq Industries; they have a long range of products, the KSB pumps at Wah.
 If you have put 100 demands on table for help from other countries; how many were for “exporting your manpower – officially”.

On the other side –
 There have been established instances where products of Pakistan; like dalda (cooking oil), atta (wheat flour) and rice were expensive inside Pakistan and they were cheaper in Afghanistan????
 If that was labeled “smuggling”; why Pakistan did not try to export officially and why the other country welcome unofficially.
 Pakistan and Afghanistan are brotherly, friendly; Why they are not on talking terms from core of heart? Why they don’t visit each other frequently?

Gen Ziaul Haque plane crash

Mein kis ke haath pe apna lahu talash karun
tamam shehr ne pehn rakhey hein dastaney

Translation: like:
How can I find my blood stain on a hand
Population of this city has gloved their hands

As I heard a plane of the then Pak Airways carrying six Generals was crashed. How and who was behind it; perhaps not known yet.

We have been unable to find cause of death: starting with Quaid-e-Azam to Benazir Bhutto – several of people and country leaders.

We ask Allah for forgiveness for every thing He didn't like of those who are with him and for us waiting in line - and, we forgive those who have hurt us and ask for fogiveness from those those who were hurt by us - Aameen.
It has happened in other countries also, like: India, Maxico, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Kabul and United States.

Only one thing comes to my mind. When General Zia used bike to go his office. As I heard, he said, he needed no security but it was duty of the Security office to secure his journey. Later on, the Security said that journey by bike cost Security 70,000 rupees. Given that Security has to do its job – were they there securing the travel of General Zia and entourage.

Sugar crisis in Pakistan

Healthwise

I heard of a saying:
"Why we give poison to kill some one who can be killed by sugar"

Brown sugar is far better than the white sugar which is labelled as white poison. Our body extracts enough sugar, salt and minterals etc. that our body needs and expels the extras. We need heat/fuel for body which is in the form of sugar. Extra sugar we use for taste should be minimal. Only those people need extra sugar who work hard/manual labour or walk and burn sugar found in their body. To replenish that extra sugar is needed. In summer when sweating takes away salt and we go for salt. Nature has given us fruit like water melon which is all sugar and we see people doing hard labour, usually go for water melon to quench thirst and sugar take-in. Be careful please; extra sugar not used, not flushed out, can cause DIABETES.

Sugar crisis

This is not a new popup. People forget very soon what had happened in the past because they are continuing to compose themselves and struggle for their daily life livelihood. They accept calamities as if that was a test from God. Crisis such as this – sugar, ghee (butter oil) crisis; are man made.

Shortage of essentials is related to the Demand and Supply formulae. Whenever manufacturers think of enhancing prices; they get into pool and holdback supplies to the wholesalers and then retailers and customers face the shortage. They try here and there to find the stuff even if they have to pay extra to get it. Protests come on streets. Government at this stage jumps into it and form a committee to investigate and suggest what should be solution to crisis. Meetings are held between manufacturers and wholesalers, government. Manufacturers put forward reasons that raw material has become expensive and it is difficult to release goods without recovering extra money they paid for the raw materials. Customers continue suffering and meetings are continuing moving from week to week.
Finally prices are negotiated and decided to the benefit of manufacturers and the wholesalers; hoarders; who had a pre-knowledge of these crises. All upper hands benefit at the expense of customers.

When Mr. Bhutto was in power, a party who sails in two boats, was directed to or did it on its own, bought large stocks of sugar and ghee from main cities, over night. Dawn of the next day surprised users that these two items were not available. Government tried to help people through Utility stores and other outlets. Those who had piled stocks, offered these essentials at much lower rates than the government. To destabilize government rallies and slogans were on the street. This gave chance to the manufacturers and wholesalers to benefit out of it. They made large amount of profits.

Same thing – sugar crisis was created in FM Ayub Khan’s rule to destabilize government.

In all circumstances there are associations and groups whose members have to comply with their policies to stay with the group and take benefit from their dealing and negotiations with the source of supplies.

Possible solution

Manufacturers, producers wholesalers, some users and government meet each year end of December and review any increase in basic raw material which should help increased price of the finished goods.

Reverse of this – to reduce prices

In the international market: oil producing countries take their tankers for sale in the open market. At one time, purchasers of large stocks pooled and did not buy any oil. Oil production continued and tankers piled up at the selling point. Because there were no customers, prices had to go – go – go down from 52 dollars to 2.5 dollars a barrel.

MAY GOD HELP US ALL, BLESS US ALL!

Please tell me where you find me wrong so I can correct my thinking. Thanks.

Resolution

Resolution: author my grandson Sameed Irfan

Everyday we think of and plan to accomplish certain work during the day (a short term planning) and some to complete in a month or so (called a long term planning). We write it down or save in our memory.

Resolutions are when a person makes a goal to do some thing in the near future. It helps accomplish and achieve aim going through various steps to get to the target.

They could also be personal goals that would help improve upon a person’s habits. They help make a person better by getting rid of bad habits one by one. If some one resolves to get through the exams; he sketches a road to success by replacing some extra curricular activities by studies.

Next step is ‘how to start and work through until it is done”. This is planning and we start step by step various points to complete the task smoothly. There are failures also. And we check back to find where we made a mistake and how to correct it.

When we make a resolution and find it shouldn’t be to hard then we might just give up that task; if that is feasible, for the future. If that has to be done then we consult with other person/persons to find a better solution. When we find a solution and agree to it, we say we have “resolved”.

We should go through these thinking, working out step by step, consult others, to reach a successful resolution. Spend time as needed in the initial stages and not to take decisions haphazardly to let things incomplete and hanging over head blocking or interrupting taking up other tasks. Each and every minute of TIME is precious, it does not wait and will not be reverse itself.

(CHOOSE WISELY AND BENEFICIALY)

I appreciate he has ability to think over such useful things.

Veil/Pardah in 1940's

Pardah/Veil - a sign of self and to avoid eye to eye contact with a male person. What happened to it after 1947 India partition?

Women used to keep the scarf/dupatta over their heade and shoulder covering all body to below the hips. If a male guests came into the house and she had to talk to him, she would lower her scarf until below her eyes.

All women, were observing traditional pardah; muslims in burqa, shalwar, qameez; Hindus in Sarees; Sikh with dupatta, kameez/shirts below knee.

Heads were covered by all muslim men with fabric cap/topi or turbine, sikhs in turbin and hindus topi.

Men and women - all communities - were communicating with each other very respectfully.

Blasts and the human lives

I don't know who fired or ordered to fire the first blast. Sure, he knew it will take without warning human life; men, women and children; damage properties. What type of reward the igniter should expect in life hereafter. We take it very lightly. Life here in this world is very very short while the life hereafter will be endless; whether in heaven or hell, though we are assured the severity of punishment will not be more than the severity of injurious actions done in this world.

Those who blast themselves have never been identified or claims of their parents have never been brought to public. Who they are! From where they come! Do they have parents, brothers and sisters! OR they are brainwashed to do this "holy" job for an uncertified assurance of a place in the heaven.

Blasts are heard of all over the world. If it is done in tit-for-tat fashion; both sides are earning stain of blood and both are to be claimed.

There are lot of joyful programs aired on media. Some time we listen a few minutes message to restrain from such acts and that they are not recognized by any religion. We need much more stress on this and message should be aired in all languages and repeated over and over again.

First we ask, pray for children and expect children when grown up to help their parents. Then, we kill them and their parents also. Sooner or later we are punished in one or the other form for our wrong doings in this world but at that time we do not realize the link and pray to God for recovery from the calamity. First we do the forbidden then expect for forgiveness.

Please join me in my prayer:
God put us on the right path, restrain us from taking lives and damaging property, give us strength and opportunity to do good deeds, forgive us for what we have done in the past and that was not to Your liking. (Aameen)

Insurance in Illinois USA

My suggestion may benefit hundreds of patients who pay premium for the coverage.

Co-payment:
 This is clearly written on the face of Insurance ID card and is paid at time of visit.
 A notice is seen at the reception window that this co-payment is paid at time of visit; office will not bill for it.
 Insurance card is copied by doctor’s office on each visit.
 Patient never receives extra billings from his doctor.
 Prescriptions written by the doctors are drawn from pharmacy and co-payment for that is paid before taking over medicines.
 Such co-payments are also stated to be paid at time of admission to a hospital.

If doctor wants to know of the illness in detail to give better treatment, he refers for examination, stress test, or blood work to a specialist.

 Patient is satisfied and relies on the first doctor for whatever treatment he has been giving or would give after further findings.
 Patient reports, with doctor’s referral, at the next location.
 Patient pays co-payment there and signs a typical authorization form for treatment.
 After some questions, answers and checkup at this location, medicines or exercises are prescribed – if this doctor has no setup to do tests to know more about the suffering, he refers to another facility to perform those tests.
 Patient goes there. Tests are done. Results are always sent back to the referring doctor.

Now patient starts worrying about what was so wrong with his health and what treatment he will go in for.

His worries are shattered when he starts receiving bills from parties whom he never visited; in Springfield, Lombard, St. Louis, etc. These demands are followed by reminders and a deadline to pay otherwise matter would be referred to a collection agency.

 Tooth extraction: 6.00 – co-payment mentioned in insurance benefits. Doctor extracted my tooth and asked for 34.00. What if I had not that much money with me at that time. He said he used a different procedure. When contacted, my insurance provider said “he must have used a different procedure”. How such things be talked about and cleared before treatment!
 Insurance providers suggest patient can take treatment, in case of emergency only, in another country and that will be paid if backed up with payment receipts. My wife had to go to Emergency for a cardiac problem. She paid money; brought back receipts but was never paid by the insurance provider; they have their reasons.

Questions:
1. Do these facilities admit patient without knowing that the treatment or test is covered by patient’s insurance provider;
2. Can they kindly check with insurance provider; it takes a phone call; that the treatment or test to be performed was within insurance coverage. This will save patient and themselves from complications about payment.
3. Is it obligatory at the part of these facilities or services to tell the patient that they are not a part of the hospital staff; they are outsiders; allowed to operate at that facility?
4. I remember when my friend asked a staff at the hospital if she could explain the patient about vegetarian healthy food recipes written on a piece of paper give by staff to the patient, she said, she will charge $20; perhaps she was also an outsider operating from table provided at the facility.

Dental and Vision

Expensive. Need cutting down so common man can afford.
Increase visits after putting in new denture to four.

Family structure; how to keep it intact

Family structure –
how to keep it intact

Spider web is strong enough to safeguard the inhabitants. The web knots are members of the web and threads represent relations with each other and with the head of the house. If any intruder steps in, the threads and knots will trap and let it die its own death.

Setup of a family, to me, is similar, and rather should be. Share information, events and even slight fears and doubts. A demand or for that matter a concession be spoken and listened respectfully for an amiable solution. We should place ourselves in other’s situation to have a feeling of the matter under discussion. Airing out of the area will encourage others to politely poison blood running into your family web threads. Please avoid it. Nip this evil in the bud.

Nobody likes to repeat:
I talked and she listened
She talked and I listened
Then we both talked and neighbor listened

We should create same atmosphere at work place also.

When we marry our children we should look back in our own past. Free them for some time in their room. Let them dine out; enjoy free time out of house. Let them be the guard of their belongings. To win parents’ affection, children should discuss with them for any addition, replacement or getting rid of a piece of valuables.

Should husband and wife share facts! They must share odds and evens sitting same side rather across the table, with tea and snacks which give some spells to absorb discussion or think of a better suggestion. Betraying each other is pulling things out of gear. They should not let things go out of hand. Care is better than cure. Think twice before hiding facts. Let each partner relax and be free from daylong stress. Tell the partner if there was any community news or any thing new about your children.

Children are friendly with mother and they tell her facts and fears. No doubt mother can handle bad and good in a cool and very sophisticated manner. Men should but cannot control anger and lose temper easily. Mother can bring husband to a very cool mood and ask him to listen patiently and come up with a solution. Keep domestic matters within the boundaries of the house.

Few cases I heard of were to the contrary of my thinking.

 Girl told story of her rape pregnancy to the mother
 First reaction of mother: Don’t let your father know, he will kill you
 Abortion was conducted
 Where pregnancy took a serious shape; a story went around: “a tumor has been removed” and therefore girl was sick for few days

Are we sincere to each other? If we are, why we have complaints or hide facts from each other. Why relations are so strained that they grow feathers and become mosquitoes to whisper in others ears!!!

Sheikh Sarwar childhood plays

Sheikh Sarwar childhood plays

Besides attending school regularly, doing home work and helping in household; whenever I found time I wanted to use for me.

Bath or shower out of home
- Very fond of bathing in rain with other friends in a tight undergarment (called Langot in our language)
- There were water wells dug for cultivation and run by wooden gear pulled by cattle. Water was first in a brick lined pond then dropped into the water way for the fields. Well were not far away from each other. We used to take bath at the last well, then the middle and lastly at the nearest well. Some time the farmer let us sit in the seat behind cattle and enjoy ride.
Book binding and covers
- I knew very well how to do book binding and I did so for my books which broke binding.
- Like gift packing paper. I used to make some designs and flowers in colors on strong legal size papers and then brush a think varnish layer on it to preserve the painting.
Catapult
- custom made from a carpenter shop or used Y-shape tree branch.
- Used balls made of clay to hunt for birds
Climbing on trees
- to lay down on a branch pretend taking rest
- to search nests for eggs used in kite flying threads smoothness. Some time crows would get together and attack on my head and body to punish for stealing their eggs; some time eggs were broken in my shirt pocket while coming down from tree
- to fix rope for swings
Fire works
- burn some bushes; specially pepper plants; to make ashes. We were told the ashes from pepper plants will give sharp spark to fire works
- cut lot of paper in 2 inch x 4 inch and 2 inch x 5 inch size
- roll cut paper on a pencil while gluing each turn together and twist the last one inch end of paper to close the whole
- fill with a mixture of ash, gandak and potas, iron copper dust collected by filing metals; we bought from small cottage works; insert threads of heavy fiber leaving a small part out of the container to lit
- twist and close the opening
- wrap around animal tissues (brought from a meat shop or take from the larger size used fireworks by elders)
- ignite one by one and throw away
- tie with sticks and ignite so it went straight up
- Fill earthen pottery with material and insert some fat fiber threads leaving a portion out of the container, to lit.
Injuries
- As my friends did, I also received injuries playing games, hide & seek, and were cured without much care. Perhaps bodies at that age had strong mechanism to cure the wounds.
- I could not recover from an injury that I got in scuffle between my heart and me. We played push and pull. I lost it in the final round
Kite flying
- Make and repair own paper kites of different shapes, colors and sizes
- Grind glass into powder and mix in prepared fine glue; mix eggs
- Soak thread of “chain” brand in it for a while
- Take out thread while squeezing down extra glue
- Spread on distant pegs taking turns
- Re-roll thread on a wide wooden wheel revolving on a rod going through it
- This thread was like a very fine sandpaper to cut through the thread of other kites
- Fly kites on top of roof or in the nearby open space
Stealing berries, toot, lemons and malons
- people knew children were doing this as fun and would ignore unless children would damage a lot, then they would speak to the parents. Therefore, we remained very restricted
Writing pens and ink
- made my own from thin bamboo stock, reeds or sometime large size feathers; in tips of different size
- Made my own black ink by burning and grinding bamboo sticks or reeds mixed with mastered oil; boiling to make it think enough to flow down from the pens. I put a piece of fabric in it so lot of ink is not picked by the pen
- Made my own blue black ink by mixing “Robin neel BLUE” "Neela thotha "Agate" with “Qsees” and boiling the paste to a desirable thickness. Qasees we used to call, was available in stores. It gave a color.
Wooden “lattu” a spinning toy
- I was fond of this. Got made at a carpenter shop in different colors and sizes. A string was wrapped around and by pulling it fast and throwing on the ground, toy would spin on its axis while keeping balance on a needle inserted into its bottom. There were competitions among friends on the length of time it keeps revolving.

Temporary assignments!

Temporary assignment that carry livelihood, recognition and rewards:

Inching through my life I find I have been doing self-employed or assigned jobs on a temporary basis, for an unknown span of time; I mean, until the job was done and my Provider called me back.

I learnt from following quiet lessons that they were essentials for a “life” assignment that I would have to accomplish:

 Childhood: had to go by rules of my parents while I played some games at my discretion. As dependent had to obey parents and with some liberty I had, I took part in some games.
 School: parents put me there to get education. Frankly, I didn’t know at that time about the wider role of education in life but I tried interestingly to grasp knowledge step by step.
 Lot of people does not get education and go for technical jobs, to earn some money for the household.
 Purpose is common; to earn for necessities of life.
 Employment. I came to know, education was a requisite to get a job in better environment.
 Family in the making: Behind the curtain; I was being trained to make a family like my parent’s, and that of my ancestors. The Nature made it true. I also made a family, made some property and bagged some money and became a part of a large community.
BUT,
1. I was depressed after my wife passed away. I felt lonely. My thoughts took me far back to the departure of my grandparents and parents. I realized that was a reality; every body had to go upon completion of a certain role. These happenings make us strong to bear such losses in the future and go ahead to continue in the “life” assignment. Couple of months before her departure, my wife called elder daughter, handed over her jewelry and put in writing how to distribute among our children and the grands. She said she forgives whoever hurt her and asked for forgiveness from those who were hurt by her. She said, her time (assignment) was up. She felt sick again, went to hospital, did not come back home.
2. None of my predecessors took with them movables or unmovable. Only good noble deeds go along and even sent for credit before our departure. There are centuries old treasures and wonders left behind by the people called back by the Provider.
3. Boarding, lodging, water, air, rain, earth, sky, sun, moon, light, day and night were made available ahead of our landing. We did not have to worry about essentials.

These Temp jobs carry incentives and bonuses:

Before our landing on job site, the Provider had arranged for our reception, care-taker and amenities; pleasures and attractiveness that conduce to smoothness and comfort, convenience and enjoyment of social relationship. All this was rather impossible for us to accomplish along side of our job.
He had also made available the rules and regulations in writing and are explained His messengers, by our elders and scholars. If we comply with these rules ourselves and tell others and our new generations of the benefits, we will be doing a noble deed. If we ignore, we will be punished, though He is Most Merciful and Beneficial, He can pardon us. We always seek his blessings.

Incentives: Do well. You will find goodies coming to you unexpectedly from unseen source, in this and the life after.

Bonus: If we take well care of family and teach them of what God expected of us, and put in extra effort in spreading His message around and by complying with that ourselves; we may be included in a group of His blessed people.

Rules are, for example:

Accept the oneness of the Provider (God); praise and be thankful to Him
Believe in the Day of Judgment
Believe in the being of Angles
Accept the Holy book He has made available for our guidance
Believe in His prophets and adopt their teachings
Share knowledge and wealth with others
Desist and keep others from doing unjust
Make just decisions without consideration of relations; color and creed
Recognize and apply rights of women

Duties and Rights go together

We seek His guidance in all affairs of our life

Easy Installments

Easy Installments

Some time back Pakistan Television played “Bakra Kiston Par” a stage show that received a big applause. Bakra Kiston Par= Goat on installments. These plays project good and bad happenings that have taken place in the community. They keep us engaged by serving songs and sceneries yet revolving around the main message which is taken seriously by some and some of us let it go over the head.

For a long time well wishers (including some known politicians) in Pakistan, have been reminding us – time and again; to cut down on food menus for marriage parties. Though Money is No Problem for the well-to-do families, it always hurt people in the middle and third stage. Some have opted for early retirement from job to get money in lump sum to marry a daughter or son; some sold out their jewelry while some sold or pledged their property to invite guests at a better marriage hall and serve good palatable food. We have two faces, in all matters; one “YES we support the instructions laid out by administration and “NO” by looking out for invitation in a well set hall with different meals and desserts. We manipulate and find some ways to defy the “strict” “instructions” yet look obeying them:

§ Send meals to the girl’s house to serve their guests at their house and come to boy’s for solemnization and have a cup of tea.

§ Or divide guests in two. serve two dishes and a dessert and fruit to those who came with girl send them off and later throw another “wow” party to those on boy’s side; with BBQ’s plus couple of other dishes and drinks.

§ Extra over expense: You can omit music; music with dance, lights beyond need.

Restrictions imposed or self-adopted are good for people in countries where we see rich and poor apart. Let us take this a Will of God to see how rich facilitate their poor brothers and for the poor whether they are happy with Contentment. We should encourage those who cannot serve assorted meals and, at a rented hall; so that they do not have to undergo undue burden.

Catering on Installments

I have heard of some caterers offer to help those who could not set aside enough money to meet with catering expense for their beloved daughter or son’s marriage. But there is some thing on our own part to do. When we are blessed with children, we start thinking of their raising well, giving education, marrying them all of which need money but we, for reasons, have been unable to think and put in practice creating a Delayed Expense category. We should remain within resources and not expand on our avoidable needs. To borrow money to be repaid in monthly installments makes us suffer each month while our monetary needs increase to meet additional requirements with growing children. Avoid this cause of frustration, blood pressure and other sufferings in day to day life. We have to take this “Saving” bitter pill to keep painless future and uproot the cause of pain. Care is better than cure.

Saving: I remember a call given by a country’s administration chief to the public to donate a penny a person that will buy a Tank.

I will tell you my own stories of borrowing money:

I was a new employee in an organization. Our religious festival approached. People needed more money to celebrate and make children happy. My colleagues took advance from salaries. When I approached the director, Malik Sharif, he advised me not to dent my salary and avoid upsetting household monthly budget that may take longer to recover. I did not take advance and adjusted extra monetary needs in our rest-of-the-month expenses. My thanks to Mr. Malik.
My wife and I approached a relative (in a position to lend money) for a small size loan. Before the head of family (the earning person) could say anything; his wife (also my relative) asked “can you will pay back.

Zaroorat say ziada mehbani ho gaee hai

To goa khatam kia sari kahani ho gaee hai
Dararain bar rahin hein qurbaton mein rafta rafta
Hamari dosti sha-id purani ho gaee hai
Bina puchay mujhey phool bhajwaen hein us-ney
Usay meri tarf say badgumani ho gaee hai
Bahut darbarion men ghir ga-ein hein zille-Ilahi
So ab mashkook ujki hukam-rani ho gaee hai
Wo sab se ziada zarf ka charcha karey gi
Wo larki jo achanak khandani ho gaee hai
Kamal-e zarf-e giria ki sanad hasil thi ji ko
Suna hai ab wo pathar aankh pani ho gaee hai
Usay mujh say shika-et thi mujhey usay gila tha
Zara si baat barh kar daastan ho gaee hai
Mohabbat Mir o Ghalib tak to lafani thi Roohi
Magar ye ham tak aatay aatay fani ho gaee hai

Zamaney ke sawalon ko mein hans kar taal deta hoon

ye kis maqam par hayat mujh to le ke aa-gaei
na bas pe yahan, na gam pe ikhtiar hai
tamam umar ke hisaab mangti hai zindgi
ye mera dil kehay to kia, ye khud se sharamsaar hai
bula raha kaon mujh ko chilmano ki us tarf
meray liay bhi kia koi udaas begarar hai

Yoon zidgi ki rah mein takra gia koee
Ik roshni andheron mein bikhra gia koee
Wo haadsa wo pehli mulaqaat kia kahoon
Kitni ajeeb thi wo soorat-e halaat kia kaoon
Wo qehr wo gazab wo jafa mujh ko yaad hai
Wo uski be-rukhi ki ada much ko yaad hai
Mit-ta nahin hai zehan say yoon chha gia koee
Pehlay mujhey wo dekh ke barham si ho gaee
Phir apnay hi haseen khyalon mein kho gaee
Be-chargi pe meri usay rehm aa gia
Sha-id meray tarapnay ka andaaz bha gia
Sansoon say bhi qareeb meray aa gia koee
Yun us nay piar say meri bahon ko chhu lia
Ik pal mein dil pe kaisi qiamat guzar gaee
Rag rag mein uskay husn ki khushboo bikhar gaee
Zulfon meray shanon pe lehra gia koee
An us dil-e tabah ki halat no poochiay
Be-naam arzoo ki lazzat no poochiay
Ik ajnabi tha ruh ka arman ban gia
Ik haadsah than piar ka unwan ban gia
Manzil ka raasta mujhay dikhla gia koee

Ye Batain jhoti batain hein ye logon ne phelaeen hein

Hein lakhon rog zamaney mein kion ishq hai ruswa bechara
Hein aur bhi wajhein vehshat ki insaan ko rakhti dukhiara
wo bekal bekal rehta hai jis ne preet mein dil hara
varna shaam se subhe tak yoon kon phiray hai awara

jo jaan liay tal na sakay ye aisi bhi uftaad nahin
ye baat to tum bhi mano gay wo Qais nahin Firhad nahin
kya ishq ka daru mushkil hai, kia wasal kay nuskhay yaad nahin
ham say kaho ham karten hein, kia Insha ko samjhana hai
us larki se bhi keh lein gay, go ye aur zamana hai
ya chorain ya takmeel karein, ye ishq ye ya afsana hain

Taza hawa ke shauq mein aye saaknan-e shehr
Itney na dar banana ke dewar gir parey
Teer kha ke jo dekha kameen gha ki tarf
Apney hi doston se mulakaat ho geiy

Teri berukhi ne chheen leen hein shararten meri
og smjhte hein, men sudhar gia hoon

Tha zam jinhein wo darya bhi tujhi mein dhoobay
To ke sehra nazar ata tha, samandar nikla
Thakey harey parindon ne mujhko naseehat ki
Shaam dhal ja-ay to Mohsin tum bhi ghar jaya karo

Ye daria raat bhar charta raha hai
Suna raat bhar barsa hai badal
Magar wo shehr jo pyasa raha hai
Wo koi dost tha achhe dinon ka
Jo pichhli raat se yaad aa raha hai
Kisay dhoondo gay in galion mein Nasir
Chalo ab ghar chalo din dhal raha hai

Tujh ko ma’loom nahin tunjh ko bhala kia maloom
Teray chehray ke ye saada say naqoosh
Meray takhayyal ko kia rang ata kartay hein
Tujh ko ma’loom nahin --------
Teri zulfen teri aankhen teray aariz teray hoont
Kaisi anjaan maasoom si khata kartay hein
Tujh ko ma’loom nahin -------
Khilwat-i-bazam ho khilwat-i-tanhaaee
Tera paikar meri nazron mein ubhar aata hai
Koi saath ho koi fikr ho koi mahaul
Mujh ko har simt tera husn nazar aata hai
Chalte chalet jo qadam aap thakh jaatain hain
Sochta hoon kahin tu ne pukara to nahin
Gum si ho jati hain nazaren to khyal aata hai
Is min pinhan teri aankhon ko ishara to nahin
Tujh ko ma’loom -------
Dhoop mein saya bhi hota hai gurezan jis dam
Teri zulfain meray shaanon pe bikhar jati hein
Takh ke jab sar kisi pathar pe tika deta hoon
Teri bahain meri garden mein utar aati hein

Taqseem to kar detay hein becha nahin kartey

Is bar jo eendhan ki tara cut ke gira hai
Sadion ka bhara piar tha us bhorey shajar mein

Is qadar bhi na jazbaat pe qabu rakho
Thak ga-ey ho to merey kandhey pe bazu rakho

Ik aag si jasbon ki dheka-ey huay rehna
Chhalka-ey huay chalna kusbu lab-e lali ki
Ik bag sa sath apney mehka-ey huay rehna
Hai husn ka shewa jab ishq nazar a-ey
Pardeh mein chaley jana sharma-ey hu-ey rehna
Ik shaam si kar rakhna kajal ke krishmey say
Ik chaand sa aankhon kein chamka-ey huay rehna
Adapt si bana li hai tum ne to Munir apni
Jis shehr mein bhi rehna ukta-ey huay rehna

Ek do roz ka sadma ho to ro lein Fakhir
Ham kohar roz ke sadmaat ne rone na dia

Urdu ashiar beginning with H (Ha, Hay)

Harfe sa'da jisse samjhi thi, paheli nikli
meri dushman mere bachpan ki saheli nikli
masla kaon sa tha, kao se majbouri thi
bhai nethey the, behn ghar se akeli nikli
bichrey logon ko achanak meri yaad aney lagi
jab mere naam bazurgon ki haweli nkli
yaa uski masalsal satati rehi
raat bhar men ghazal gungunati rehi
is tarha zabt ko aazmati rehi
zakhm khati reh, muskarati rehi

Hota nahin hai khatm Qateel aas ka safar
Paoon katey huay hein magar chal rehay hein log

Hum kuch kehtey hein to wo kehtey hein bahut boltey ho
Chup rehtey hein to wo poochtey hein naraaz lagtey ho
Apney dil ki baat unhein kaisey samjaen
Izhar karte hein to wo kehtey hein mazaq kartey ho

Haath chhotay bhi to rishtay nahin choota kartay
Waqt ki shaakh say lamhay nahin tora kartay
Jis kay mathay pay ho silvat nigahon mein shikn ho
Aisi tasveer kay tukray nahim jora kartay
Shehd jeenay ka mila karta hai thora thora
Janay walon kay liay dil nahin tora kartay
Lag kay sahil say jo behta hai usay behnay do
Aisay darya ka kabhi rukh nahin mora targa

Har koi phirta hai hathalee pe sehra rakhay
Kis ko serab karey kis ko pyasa rakhay
Umar bhar koi nabhata ta’aluq itna
ae meri jan ke dushman tujhe Allah rakhay
Ham ko achha nahin lagta koi hamnam tera
Koi tujh sa ho to rakhay bhi naam tera
Dil bhi kitna pagal hai ke usi shaksh se wabasta hei
Jo kisi aur honay de na apna rakhay
Ye inayat hai atayat hai ke chahat hai Faraz
Ham to raazi hein tu jis haal mein jaisa rakhay

Urdu ashiar beginning with G (Gaaf)

Gali mein dard ke purzey talash karti thi
Meray khaton ke turkey talash karti thi
Bhula-e kon azzyat-prastian uski
Khushi ke shehr mein sadmey talash karti thi
Ajeeb mehr prasti thi uski fitrat mein
Shajar ke tootey pattey talash karti thi
Qyam karti thi mujh mein so’obton ki tarah
Udas rooh ke goshey talash karti thi
Tamam raat vo pardah hata ke chand ke saath
Jo khoey ga-ey they vo lamhey talash karti thi
Kuchh is liay bhi meray ghar se usko this wehshat
Yahan bhi apney piarey hi talash karti thi
Ghuma phira kar juda-ee ki baat karti thi
Hamesha hijr ke harbey talash karti thi
Dua-ein karti thi ujrey hu-ey mazaron par
Barey ajeeb saharey talash karti thi
Mujhey to aaj bataya hai baadlon ne Vasi
Vo laut aaney ke rustey talash karti thi

Gam baray aate hein qatil ki nigahon ki tarah
Tum chupa lo mujhe ae dost gunahon ki tarah
Apni nazron mein gunehgar no hote keonkar
Dil hi dushman hei mukhalif ke gawahon ki tarah
Har tarf zeest ki rahon mein kari dhoop hai dost
Bas teri yaad ke sae hein panahon ki tarah
Jin ki khatir kabhi ilzaam uthaya tha Fakhir
Wo bhi paish ayen hein insaaf ke shahon ki tarah
(Sudharshan Fakhir)

Gaey dinon ka surag lekar kidhar se aya kidhar gia wo
Ajeeb manoos ajnabi tha mujhey to hairan kar gia wo
Wo maikadhay ko jaganay wala, wo raat ki need uranay wala
Ye aaj kia uskay ji mein a-ee ke shaam hotay hi ghar gia wo
Na ab wo yadoon ka charta darya, no fursaton ki udaas barkha
Yunhi zara si kask hai dil men jo zakham gehra tha bhar gia wo
Wo jis ke shanay pe haath rakh kar safar kia tha tu nay mansloon ka
Teri gali say na janey keon aaj sar jhuka ke guzar gia wo
Wo raat ka be-nava musafir, wo tera sha-ir wo tera Nasir
Teri gali tak to ham ne dekha, phir na janay kidhar gia wo

Urdu ashiar beginning with D (Daal)

Daag hai mujh pe ishq ka, mera gunah bhi dekh
uski nigah bhi to dekh, jis ne ye gul khila dia

Daikhney mein seedhey saadey bholey bhaley hein
Ye hazrat kaon si basti key ya-Rab rehney waley hein

Dil ke a-eenay mein hai tasveer-i-yar
Jab zara garden jhukaee dekh lee

Dil ki basti purani dillhi hai
Jo bi guzra, usnay loota hai

Dil tha ik shola, magar beet ga-ey din vo Qateel
ab koredo na issay, rrakh men kia rakha hai

Dilon kay fasley bartay rahen gay
Jahan tak mashware baham na hongay

Dhoop mein niklo, ghataon mein naha kar dekho
Zindgi kia hai, kitabon ko hata kar dekho
Vo sitara hai chamaknay do usay ankhon mein
Kia zaroori hai usay jism bana kar dekho
Pathron ki bhi zaban hoti hai dil hotay hain
Apnay ghar kay dar-o-diwaar saja kar dekho
Faasla nazar ka dhoka bhi to ho sakta hai
Vo milay ya na-milay haath barah kar dekho

Dil ki basti ajeeb bati hai
lootnay walay ko tarasti hai
Ho qanayat jo zidgi ka asool
Tang-dasti farakh-dasti hai
Azil say dil hai jahan mein kamyaab
Phir bhi yay shay gazab ki sasti hai
Ham fana ho kay bhi fana na huay
Ne-hasti ik tarah ki hasti hai
Aankh ko kia nazar nahin aata?
Abar ki tarah say barasti hai
