Sewer system in Lahore, Pakistan

Planning of a project takes into consideration environmental past, present and future increments. With the increase of population pressure comes on housing needs, industrial development, job creation, increased produce resources, additional revenue and infrastructure.

Sewer lines were laid of a small size diameter that failed to take the increased domestic and industrial waste water load. These sewer lines are also clogged by the garbage, people dump into open manholes and in the cemented open channels made to take water to a larger system.

Manholes are stolen or broken. Because the culverts underground are filled with garbage, they are not ready to take in rain water and let it collect and flow on the roads hiding open manholes which have often taken lives. Rains come each year on their schedules. They keep roads dry for a long time in between, for the departments to clear the choked culverts and to replace manhole lids with non-breakable and non-removable. Often times traffic is diverted to take two three turns to reach their destination.

Councilors please extend support?

in giving government location of missing manhole covers in their area and same time ask residents to watch report who is taking these away
in holding occasional meetings with residents to arrange dumping of garbage at the given place
in discouraging extended drive-ins into the streets
in arranging diversion of domestic floor-wash water to go into the drainage lines instead of flowing over the streets, damaging their structure and to make streets for comfortable walk.

Departments serving community for roads and buildings need our support.
